Out and about with Genie Travel

Those of you who follow my Facebook page, may have noticed I was away from the 'office' on Wednesday. If you missed my post on Thursday, you won't know why. I was up in London to attend the Rounf the world anniversary party of Travel Bulletin, who were celebrating 50 years in the travel industry. Travel Bulletin are a media company, who produce magazines, and arrange training events for Travel agents. The event was held at the Hurlingham Club in London,  
Nothing booked in for August (yet) but in September I have a ship visit in Southampton, a conference in Newport (Wales); then, I have two wedding Fayres, two Christmas Fayres, a supplier event, and possibly two others which haven't been confirmed yet for the rest of the year..!! Phew, that's as well as booking all my lovely customers, their ideal holidays

EES/ETIAS
Some of you may have read about the EES/ETIAS system which is being introduced in the EU. This has been delayed, but latest news is that from 12th October 2025, the EES system will be rolled out across Europe. This is an electronic system which requires your fingerprint and Facial recognition (like they have in USA). There is nothing you need to do prior to travelling, as this will be done when you arrive at your destination airport. .

UK citizens will need to apply for an ETIAS before travelling to a European country in the Schengen area, but the date has not yet been confirmed. Once launched, you can apply on line - it doesn't take long- pay the fee - I have seen mention of 20euros mentioned (but GOV.UK still shows a 7 euro fee). and once approved will last for 3 years,
